Notes from Bentucky

There's this little village in a southeastern Washington river valley that is like so many others...so many others that are hidden jewels. Benton City has garnered the name "Bentucky" because it is considered backwards by the raised noses of the near-by communities. We like it that way. It's "Back Home in ol Bentucky" to the strings of mandolins, banjos, fiddles, dulcimers, guitars and the like. Take off your cufflinks and other puffery and join us!

Thoughts about a Bentucky music festival

Just back from work and been thinking about my need for more music. I like Bluegrass and old Americana in general and I was thinkin, "Why not try for a music festival in Benton City?". Wouldn't it be great to have a venue for the local musicians to share their talents for the community and for the community to have some good, wholesome wares to share with the greater TriCities area. Have to do some more research on the idea...talk to some locals, etc...see if there's interest and a willingness to help...to contribute some cash.. It would pay back for the local merchants in sales. Hmmmm....
