Notes from Bentucky

There's this little village in a southeastern Washington river valley that is like so many others...so many others that are hidden jewels. Benton City has garnered the name "Bentucky" because it is considered backwards by the raised noses of the near-by communities. We like it that way. It's "Back Home in ol Bentucky" to the strings of mandolins, banjos, fiddles, dulcimers, guitars and the like. Take off your cufflinks and other puffery and join us!

Bluebloods have no oxygen...that explains a lot.

My wife is struggling with a pulmonary condition and has been so involved in research about it that I've learned much about the workings of the lungs and heart. In fact, much of what she and I talk about are medical and political lately. We're both Conservatives and believe strongly that our country is the best one out there. So, where is this leading? Well, I heard it said that the red and blue of the politiacal maps this season are not properly applied as the liberal is akin to Marxist communism which are commonly known as the Reds. I've got a new perspective on this thing. Red is the color of oxygenated blood and blue is the color of oxygen poor blood. Now that makes me feel better. I've learned that one of the first things one notices about a person suffering from low oxygen is a lack of energy. Liberals are lethargic by nature. They want someone else to do for them whenever possible. A close second is that one low on oxygen loses the ability to find nouns in their speech. That's consistent with Liberals too. They have instituted the politically correct agenda. They demand that we lose nouns (and many adjectives for added measure) along with them. If it were not for the fact that it's such a pain and so expensive to implement, we could just humor them and go along. After all, isn't that what we usually do for the mentally challenged?
